Some magnificent trophies have been harvested with Sarvis Prairie Outfitters.
Please take a look at some of our past hunters and their trophies. We are
proud of our hunters and guides and their continual success in connecting
on trophy animals.
Our first update since the 2005 season, as we expected the 2006 Season was spectacular for all our hunts please view the pictures below. The highlight of the 2006 season was an archery buck harvested during the first week session hunt that grossed over 190" and netted 187 5/8" typical P&Y. Earlier in the year one of our guides found the 2005 sheds of this great deer. You can read the article of this deer in Muley Crazy.
On to 2007, the year was a little lack luster all our hunters seemed to have a great hunt and the experience was par for the course, but we seemed to not be able to connect on the true monsters we had marked for harvest. Our archery season was fabulous as always, with many a monster bull being spotted but few being arrowed. The stories that were rolling in from the field were the best told to date. One of our hunters got on a huge bull and nearly knocked himself out trying to rake a tree with a dead timber. He hit the tree so hard he nearly broke his nose; he woke up to seeing stars and a huge gash on his nose. We had a good number of 300 inch bulls spotted but few would lie down for the post mortem picture session.
Our rifle buck season was short, with a no show from a group of 4 hunters left us scrambling and changing our future business practices. The positive side was that we had scheduled for 10 hunters and had only 6 in camp for the first hunt; extra guides meant the hunt was over in just 2 days, with all tagged out. The nightly campfire was a spectacular event as the after dinner, silver bullet spurred comedic shore was as good as in years past. Our second session hunters came in and as quickly as the first, the season was over.
Finally, brings us to the rifle elk hunts of 2007, first and second sessions were good hunts the big bulls we had spotted during the archery season were very hard to find we had satellite bulls but the big boys had found the elk cave and tucked away for the duration. Our cow hunts went off without a hitch and of course, out come the big bulls that we had seen during the archery season and caught only fading glimpses of during the trophy hunt. But reassurance that they had made it through is always a positive at the end of a long season. They lived for us to pursue in 2008.
Speaking of 2008, the season have made the move back in 2008 all hunts are a week later than they were in 2007, which is always a good thing, cooler temperatures and frosty mornings can never hurt, when hunting in the fall. But spring is where it is at for 2008, we will be offering for the first time a very limited number of Spring Turkey Hunts for Trophy Gobblers, NO JAKES!!!!!! The turkey numbers have been growing rapidly in our area for the last 5 years and we are confident we can offer a true big game bird hunt on par with our big game mammal hunts. However, these hunts will be extremely limited. We expect to have our usual high return of previous year’s hunters in camp again this fall and hopefully a few new faces as well.
Thank you for visiting our website and happy hunting where ever your pursue trophies in 2008.
