The Prairie Ranch is a 16,000-acre working cattle ranch in North-Central Oregon and the headquarters of SARVIS PRAIRIE OUTFITTERS. It is nestled east of the John Day River and south of Fossil, Oregon, where the sage and juniper of the high desert merge with the pine and tamarack timber of the Umatilla National Forest. It is owned and operated by the Logan family. Sarvis Prairie Outfitters manages and operates exclusively on over 68,000 acres of contiguous land. Our hunt area is over 105 square miles. We are fully licensed, bonded, insured, and permitted to operate in the State of Oregon. Owner/operators Bryce & Peggy Logan were born and raised in the cattle and farming towns of Condon and Fossil, Oregon. The Prairie Ranch is now home and work to the Logan family, which includes Ben, Sawyer, Jess, Ellie and Emma. Bryce and Peg have a sound management plan that balances cattle, elk and deer. All hunts are conducted in accordance with our wildlife management plan, putting emphasis on the quality of hunt and the harvest of a trophy animal. The Logans feel it is their obligation to the land, the animals, and their clients to preserve and protect the resources. Allowing only a limited number of hunters ensures that the quality of the experience and ecosystem will not be jeopardized. Sarvis Prairie Outfitters have hosted hunters from all across the United States – Iowa, Wisconsin, New York, Southern California, and beyond – to enjoy a traditional elk and deer hunting experience in a beautiful setting.
Our experienced guides know the terrain and can tailor the hunt to your requirements and abilities – making it as easy or as challenging as you want it. They love hunting themselves and have as their goal your complete enjoyment of the hunt. They use only up-to-date, top-quality gear, to ensure your safety and success.
Sarvis Prairie Outfitters operates on 68,000 contiguous acres, within this vast area we operate in smaller hunt areas. This allows us to hunt un-pressured animals and control our take to ensure that our clients will have trophies to harvest for years to come. Depending on your hunt whether guided or unguided, archery or rifle, deer or elk we have a hunt area for you. We continually adjust the areas year to year so that we can confidently place you in an area with plenty of animals. There is terrain suitable for everyone: first-time, experienced and older hunters. Our knowledgeable guides will assign you to an area that suits your requirements and offers you the best experience for your hunting vacation.
The Prairie Ranch, home of Sarvis Prairie Outfitters, is located between the towns of Fossil and Spray, Oregon ( SEE MAP ). To reach The Prairie Ranch, you can fly into Portland or Redmond and rent a car, or we can arrange for pick-up at Redmond Airport, at your expense.
